Q: How do I use the software?
A. You will need a Windows XP, 2000 or NT setup CD-ROM or floppy disk in order to run the software. Run the Windows XP/2000/NT Key installation program and follow the on-screen instructions to create the driver disk. When the driver disk is ready, reboot the locked computer with the setup CD-ROM or floppy disk and press F6 to load additional drivers as soon as the blue screen appears. Insert the Windows XP/2000/NT Key driver disk and load the driver.

When the Windows XP/2000/NT Key driver is loaded, it will show you the list of Windows installations that could be processed.

Q: Can I use the Windows 2000 setup floppy disks to reset the Administrator password on Windows NT 4.0?

Q: The Windows XP/2000/NT Key can not find any Windows installation on my hard disk. What is wrong?
A. The most probable cause is that your SCSI or RAID hard disk drive controller is not supported by the standard Windows setup disks used to create boot floppies.

First, try to use the most recent setup floppies. Windows XP setup disks support most common SCSI and RAID controllers.

If this doesn't solve the problem, copy your hard disk controller drivers to a blank floppy, reboot the locked computer, press F6 as soon as the blue screen appears and load hard disk drivers, then load the Windows XP/2000/NT Key driver. Follow the Windows XP/2000/NT Key instructions when it starts.

Q: Can your product reset the password for the domain administrator on a Windows XP/2000 domain controller with Active Directory?
A. A stand alone utility that resets domain administrator password is available for registered customers on request. You will need to login as a local Administrator in order to use the tool. The Windows XP/2000/NT Key can reset the local password required to login as the Administrator to the domain controller computer.

In order to login as a local Administrator, boot into the Directory Services Restore Mode. Press F8 while booting Windows XP/2000 and then select Directory Services Restore Mode from the Safe Mode and Other Startup Options list. Logon as the local Administrator.

Q: Does the Windows XP/2000/NT Key support Service Pack 2?
A. Yes, the Windows XP/2000/NT Key supports all Service Packs.

Q: What bearing does the Windows XP/2000/NT Key have on Windows security?
A. The Windows XP/2000/NT Key is designed as a tool for administrators, not for "crackers". The product has no bearing on Windows security rating, because it requires physical access to the machine. In any computer system, true security from break-ins is achievable only by isolating the machine from distrusted individuals.
